D.B. Law
A legal-AI authority platform built around a working centerpiece: the “What Am I For?” workshop.
dblaw.appExecutive summary
D.B. Law needed a platform where expertise is demonstrated rather than claimed. Most professional services sites describe capability — a list of practice areas, a bio, a contact form — which asks a visitor to take the expertise on faith.
Digital Boutique built dblaw.app around a working centerpiece instead: the three-day "What Am I For?" workshop. The workshop is the product, the site is engineered around running and delivering it, and the substance is published rather than gated.
The challenge
Legal expertise has a distribution problem. It is genuinely valuable, genuinely hard to fake, and almost impossible to convey through the format the industry has settled on. A practice-area page tells a reader that a firm does something; it cannot show them how the firm thinks, which is the actual thing being bought.
Content marketing is the usual answer and it fails in a specific way: it optimizes for volume, and volume dilutes the exact quality it was supposed to demonstrate. Publishing more shallow material makes a firm look less expert, not more.
The requirement was to invert that — build the platform around a real engagement with real depth, and let the site's job be showing that depth rather than advertising around it.
Approach
The workshop came first and the platform followed it. Because "What Am I For?" is a structured three-day engagement, it gives the site a spine that a practice-area list cannot: there is an arc, there are stages, and the platform surfaces map onto them.
The AI-assisted layer handles running and delivering the workshop and compounding its output, so each cohort contributes to a growing body of work instead of being a fresh start.
The publishing decision was the one that mattered most. The site publishes substance rather than teasing it, on the reasoning that anyone able to evaluate the thinking is exactly the person worth reaching, and anyone who is not was never going to convert on a gated summary.

- D.B. Law — dblaw.app
- Industry
- Legal
- Scope
- Authority platform built around the “What Am I For?” workshop
- Challenge
- Legal expertise does not scale through content alone. Authority needed a platform where the thinking itself is the product, not a brochure describing it.
Services delivered
- Workshop as the centerpiece
- The three-day “What Am I For?” workshop is the product the platform is built around, rather than a service listed on it. Site architecture follows the workshop arc instead of a standard practice-area layout.
- Delivery structure
- The AI-assisted structure to run the workshop, deliver it, and compound what comes out of it — so each cohort adds to the body of work rather than repeating it.
- Authority publishing
- Built to publish substance. The platform's job is to show the thinking at length, which is the opposite of the summarize-and-gate pattern most professional sites default to.

- Next.js App Router, React Server Components, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS
